On the afternoon of December 29, 2020, the Innovation and Development Forum of Antimicrobial and epidemic Prevention New Materials and the founding conference of the Professional Committee of Antimicrobial and Epidemic Prevention New Materials were held at the Shanghai Institute of Silicate of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which received high attention from relevant aspects of society. A total of 150 people, including leaders of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Municipal Economy and Information Commission, Municipal Health Commission and experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and business representatives from universities, scientific research institutions, multinational corporations and related enterprises that have an impact on antimicrobial and epidemic prevention new materials, were invited to attend the founding meeting, which was presided over by Secretary-General He Koubao of Shanghai New Materials Association.
In his welcome speech, Secretary-General He Koubao, on behalf of President Liu Xunfeng, extended warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the leaders and guests who took time out of their busy schedule to attend the founding conference and Development Forum! He pointed out that at the beginning of this year, the sudden COVID-19 epidemic hit the world, and people have put forward higher requirements for the cleanliness and health of the environment while waging a tenacious fight against the novel coronavirus, and antibacterial and epidemic prevention have become the focus of the whole society. Shanghai New Materials Association held the Forum on the innovation and development of Anti-bacterial and Anti-epidemic new materials and decided to establish the "Anti-bacterial and Anti-epidemic New Materials Professional Committee", which is to build a platform for research and technical exchange of anti-bacterial and anti-epidemic new materials, create an ecological circle for industrial chain development, and seek business opportunities for cooperation and development through full exchanges and cooperation in multiple fields. Jointly promote the high-quality development of China's new antibacterial and epidemic prevention materials industry.
Deputy Secretary-General Ye Hong read out the decision of the Association on the establishment of a professional committee on antimicrobial and epidemic prevention new materials, and announced the list of directors, deputy directors and Secretary-General of the special committee.

In his speech, Mr. Wang Wei, researcher of the High-tech Division of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, pointed out that the Shanghai New Materials Association established the "Anti-bacterial and anti-epidemic New Materials Professional Committee", which aims to build a common technology research and exchange platform for the anti-bacterial and anti-epidemic new materials industry, create an industrial chain ecosystem with new materials as the main line, and actively explore the linkage development of the middle and downstream of the industrial chain. Through the full exchange and cooperation in various professional fields, the raw materials, processing, testing standards, specific products, etc., are fully developed, the joint innovation and cooperative innovation of university research institutes and enterprises are strengthened, the common progress of the industry is promoted, and the business opportunities for cooperation and development are sought to better serve the public and benefit mankind. Huang Jie, deputy director of the New Materials Department of Shanghai Economic and Information Technology Commission, pointed out in his speech that the beauty and health industry has always been a key development industry in Shanghai, and antibacterial and epidemic prevention materials, as an important part of it, are also the key areas of attention of the economic and Information Technology Commission. Professor Lu Hongzhou, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, delivered a keynote speech on "Global COVID-19 Epidemic Trend and China's Public health Countermeasures". Professor Lu gave an overview of the latest global COVID-19 situation, comparing the number of infections and deaths in the pandemic in Europe and the United States and in China under the strict prevention and control strategy. A summary report was made on the latest progress of global vaccines, and the seven guidelines, future layout, and short - and medium-term planning of the "China Plan" for COVID-19 prevention and control were summarized. In close connection with the prevention and control situation of Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, the medical team and scientific research personnel in the epidemic prevention and control strategy were discussed in an all-round and multi-dimensional manner.

Dr. Bao Ping, Technical Manager of SGS Textile Global Technology Center, shared "Quality compliance solutions for epidemic prevention materials under the new pattern of epidemic normalization and double circulation". Professor CAI Zhengsheng, School of Chemical Engineering, Donghua University, made a keynote report on "Development and Application of antibacterial and antiviral additives". Professor CAI introduced antibacterial textiles and their standards and anti-virus textiles and standards, and briefly introduced protective and hygienic materials.
Ms. Zhang Xiujuan, Senior Researcher of PU Research and Development at BASF, shared the "Development of spandex yarn for comfort epidemic prevention Masks". Professor Dong mentioned that with the improvement of medical and health awareness, people pay more and more attention to the cleanliness of household and daily necessities, and the existing iron POTS, kitchen knives and other tableware do not have the role of sterilization and disinfection, and ordinary families lack disinfection equipment. Anti-bacterial anti-virus metal material technology is to develop a series of anti-bacterial steel materials containing silver by adding a small amount of silver to steel materials, and applied to the production of knives and POTS and other kitchenware.

Norion Ningbo plant is one of the largest organic peroxide production bases in the world, and occupies a leading position in the global peroxide series products. The products are widely used in monomer polymerization, polymer modification, thermosetting resin processing and other fields. The organic peroxide products produced and supplied by Norion Ningbo base, such as Trigonox 101 and Trigonox 301, have played a great role in the field of high-fusion polypropylene degradation and production of melt-blown materials, making important contributions to epidemic prevention and control.
As Secretary-General He Koubao pointed out at the preparatory meeting of the Special Committee for antibacterial and epidemic prevention Materials, Shanghai New Materials Association focuses on providing cross-field, cross-industry and cross-regional services for the government and enterprises, and plays a role in deepening service functions, improving service capabilities and innovating service carriers in terms of focusing on national strategies and social development hotspots.
